Biography

Forming in 2000, Independent Idols (known then as Childhood) endured personnel changes to re-emerge in 2005, polished, balanced, and as entertaining as ever, with two full-length recordings under their belt, and a sharper, harder-edge sound. The band's current lineup features vocalist RYAN CHARLES, guitarist BRYAN ARZAGA, drummer TONY MYERS, and bassist DAN MORRISSEY. Influences from The Beatles and Stone Temple Pilots, to the Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls, Matthew Sweet and others can be tasted in the Idol's musical stew. Each member infuses the group's originals with his own personal influences, creating music with great depth, breadth and character. On stage, this band delivers the complete package, bringing a complete rock experience, and revealing the effervescent child-like energy of four passionate musicians. In the spring of 2004, Independent Idols licensed a song for the former television program "Party of Five". The song is featured on the first season box set. Many first-time fans of the band swear they have heard the band's music before. Such is the familiar rock-and-roll pedigree of their music; allowing it to tread where cover bands typically rule. That is the Independent Idols difference.

  WITI-TV, MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident is gettin...WITI-TV, MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident is getting a rally of support from friends, family, and complete strangers.
  
  Steve Newbauer lost his leg when he was struck by a car on May 5th. The accident happened in front of Mitchell's Tavern at 104th and Appleton. The owner of the tavern tried to save Newbauer's leg, to no avail.
  
  So now the bar owner and his friends, from the band Independent Idols, teamed up to help in another way: they hosted a fundraiser for Newbauer on Saturday night. Mitchell's provided the venue. The band provided the entertainment. Newbauer's family and friends solicited local businesses for raffle prizes.
  
  Newbauer's family was overwhelmed by the show of support. They say Newbauer has undergone four surgeries, and has a fifth scheduled on Monday.
