Sec.ond Draw \’sec-kund ‘drol\ 1: a second, longer, more satisfying "pull" off a bottle of good whisky 2: the musical distillate of core elements of jam band, bluegrass, blues, and rock 3: Charlottesville VA based stringjam band, with drum, accordion, and electric guitar issues.

Second Draw is an originals based band with compositions by either Shannon Williams (banjoist) or Rob Frayser (mandolin) or in collaboration. Rob and Shannon's distinct musical perspectives weave together acoustic mystical, rhythmic, and jam band based influences to create a unified high energy musical experience, defined by the band as "Blue Jam Music"

Second Draw"s first pull was original CD titled "White Dog" which was released in 2010. A a second CD is in the works.

We typically play two hard driving sets (1+ hour each) Sets are mostly original compositions with a couple of choice covers that vary depending on the mood.
