Skubz

Genre: Rock
Secondary Genre: Blues Seminole, Florida USA Contact

Skubz was raised on rock-n-roll, and with a curiosity for blues and jazz. His original material is edgy, raw, and has a touch of soul. Balls to the wall guitar-playing backs his strong, powerful vocals, sung from the heart with pure emotion and unabashed honesty.

Artist Information

Biography

Growing up in Milwaukee, WI, Skubz (aka Steve Schmitz) was introduced to music by his parents. From local music festivals to records playing in the home, the influence of music left a lasting impression. Skubz has enjoyed listening to a wide range of artists throughout the years including Rock, Blues and Jazz musicians. However, the strongest influence on Skubz's musical sensibilities has been Stevie Ray Vaughn, who provided the biggest inspiration in developing his own style.

Skubz now calls Seminole, FL his home and tries to perform as much as possible--open mics, bars, coffeehouses, and clubs. He also plays lead guitar for Singer/Songwriter Lorna Bracewell. Skubz has opened for nationally touring Singer/Songwriter Adrianne as well as legendary songwriter Jim Mason.
