What does Sonicbids do?
Sonicbids makes it easy for musicians and promoters to connect online. Artists can create their EPK (electronic press kit) on our site, which they can use as a tool to connect with promoters. Through a section of our site called the Promoter Drop Box. artists can connect directly with gig opportunities, which can be anything from a club to a festival to a college to a film licensing gig.

How can I use Sonicbids to do business?
As a promoter, you can find artists through Sonicbids using our search tools, posting on the Community Forum, or by opening a listing on the site. When you create a listing, we set you up with what is basically a virtual PO Box, where artists can submit their EPKs for consideration. You and your staff can then review those EPKs, make notes, rate internally, and let artists know whether or not they have been selected for the gig. This helps alleviate a lot of the labor that goes into finding talent, and we make it really easy to find the right artist to fit your needs.

Does Sonicbids interfere with my band selection process?
No, we do not pretend to know how or why you (or any promoter) select one artist or band over another.

Will my email address or phone number be made public?
No! Your email address and phone number are completely private. You'll have a promoter account on Sonicbids where you'll be able to log in and review press kits.

I have my own database!
No problem, export and sync all your musician submission data with your own database. You have the ability to create fully customizable questions to ask submitting artists, which can easily be created to fit within the current parameters of your database.

What exactly is a "Gig Listing"?
A "Gig Listing" is the description of the gig you are taking submissions for. The artists in our community can see this listing and make a determination on whether or not it would be appropriate for them. This listing includes information such as your logo, a link to your website, info about the gig, the submission fee, compensation details, and additional information.

How much does it cost?
There are no out of pocket costs to open a drop box. There is, however, a one-time $50 setup deduction that is taken from your share of the submission money we collect. Once that deduction is covered we begin to send you your share of the submission money. If this deduction is not covered by the submission money generated by your drop box, you will not be responsible for paying the difference.

There's no fee to submit to my venue, publication, etc. Can I still work with Sonicbids?
Of course you can. There are two ways you can work with us. First create your free "Promoter Account" then:
  • Search for bands by genre, location, name, etc. and save them to your account inbox. Check out their music, set list, calendar dates, and more. Once you've saved the EPK (Electronic Press Kit) that you are interested in, you'll have easy access to contact information, a place to log notes, and more!
  • Create a gig listing to be featured in the Promoter Drop Box. Sonicbids has set up a minimum $2 processing fee for artists to submit their EPK (Electronic Press Kit) to opportunities. We keep a percentage of the commission and the rest is paid to you, the promoter, on a monthly basis. We have found submission fees to be very effective in ensuring that artists are taking the time to make sure they are appropriate for your gig before submitting. There are no out of pocket expenses associated with creating a listing. Please note that there is a one time $50 set up fee per "Gig Listing" that is deducted from your first statement.

Artists pay a fee to submit to my competition. How does Sonicbids handle submission fees?
Sonicbids is enabled to process payments and submissions online for you. We accept all major credit cards from artists as well as PayPal. Sonicbids also absorbs all the credit card processing and technology fees. We post your competition as a "Gig Listing" (see above) in our "Promoter Drop Box" giving thousands of Sonicbids bands the ability to pay and submit their music to you with a click of the mouse. We can even ask submitters any question that you need answered prior to payment processing.
