"Aria Tesolin EP Review"

Aria's EP opens with Dolce, a delicate love ballad that serves as an outstanding introduction to the range of the singer's talent. Arrangements perfectly support Aria's crystalline vocals.

Now That I Know" is a love tune that would be perfectly at home in a Broadway or West End musical. It is wonderfully performed and serves to illustrate a second dimension of Aria's stunning vocal talent.

The pop-operatic song "The Key" completes the EP. Most upbeat of the three recordings on the artist's current release, the sound is clearly classical crossover, and Aria's voice soars above the crisp arrangements.

Visitors can stream the three tracks from Aria's EP at her website. We are sure that this young woman has a bright musical future and look forward to her full length album in a few months time - New Musical Discoveries

"Majestic voice"

Throughout the album, Aria infuses traditional operatic styling with pop sensibilities, creating a unique blend of old country comfort mixed with a more current sound. Aria is a fresh face on the operatic pop landscape, and given her young age and majestic voice, one would expect to hear plenty more from the angelically-voiced Canadian in the years to come. - Madison Jones, Verve Girl (Jun 06, 2013)

"Maturity rarely seen in such a young artist"

Right from the first notes of the lead track, My Heart is a Factory, it’s clear that this young woman is tremendously wise beyond her years. The whirring, mechanical sounds leading into Aria’s rich soprano voice serves as an intriguing juxtaposition, while also helping to push forth the theme of the song. When Aria sings “My heart is a factory/ with gears that turn automatically/ how can love flourish at liberty in such a cold and sterile vicinity?” amidst lush orchestration, it paints a heartbreakingly bleak outlook of the fleetingness of love, only for hope to be restored through the song’s final lines. My Heart is a Factory serves as a prime example of Aria looking at themes as universal as love and heartbreak and addressing them from a position of maturity rarely seen in such a young artist. - Madison Jones, Verve Girl (Jun 06, 2013)

"Another Album Standout"

While the entire album is filled with powerful yet delicate songs, there are several standout tracks along the way. A personal favourite is Hear Me. Backed by gorgeous piano and strings, Aria shows off her considerable chops here, exhibiting a vocal range few others can boast. The title track is one of the best illustrations of Aria’s operatic training, and the delicately layered backing vocals give a powerful depth to help the song soar to new heights. Combining this with some potent imagery laid out in the lyrics, and we have another album standout. - Madison Jones, Verve Girl (Jun 06, 2013)

"Home and Native Sound Series - Aria Tesolin"

Aria Tesolin - Rising, and destined to become a star; Her hypnotizing, euphoric, and angelic voice mesmerized the audience. Her strengths lie in her soprano abilities, which is why she is known for her operatic singing. Her notes were carried far off into the room, and caused complete silence amongst the crowd, who were kept in deep anticipation of her next song.

Her show was majestic. Her innocent demeanour subtly disguised a remarkable talent, and powerful voice. She delighted all by debuting a song she had been working on for a while, titled, 'Nobody knows'. It was an ethereal performance, akin to the melodies of Evanescence. She used her soprano talent to blend and harmonize with a contemporary rhythm that left most waiting for more.

"A truly uplifting, shackle-breaking experience"

Listening to the angelic voice of classical pop crossover artist Aria Tesolin on her new album Ascension is an instant release from the mundane urban existence. Only the really special artists can provide a truly uplifting, shackle-breaking experience, which Aria is able to provide the listener with in spades. This type of ethereal, moving experience is an increasing rarity in a musical landscape overrun with auto-tuned singles and self-indulgent pop stars. - Madison Jones, Verve Girl (Jun 06, 2013)

"Aria Tesolin - Ascension Album Review"

The vocal virtuoso has since blossomed as a lyricist too, as can be heard on this strong second album. It fuses classical, pop and electronica elements to beguiling effect, with producer/arranger Douglas Romanow doing fine work. - Kerry Doole, New Canadian Music (Apr 16, 2013)

"Woman to Watch: Aria Tesolin"

Woman to Watch: Aria Tesolin; The songwriter's sound borrows from a buffet of genres. Pop, rock n roll, jazz, and — of course — opera all trade jabs in any given piece. Ascension’s title track, for example, is at once an introspective play on musical theatre, and a demented Cohen-esque waltz." - Barry Chong, Toro Magazine (Apr 17, 2013)

"Aria Tesolin Named Best Vocalist of the Month"

Sept. 14, 2011

Aria Tesolin, a promising, classical-pop/AC singer & writer based in Toronto, ON, Canada, has won the September SingerUniverse “Best Vocalist Of The Month” Competition, for her performance of her song “Dolce” (co-written by Popi Fabrizio). "Dolce" will be included on her next independent release, which is due out at the end of this year (2011).

“Dolce” is a graceful, classical/pop ballad which provides a fine showcase for Tesolin's singing and writing ability. This song starts off with an acoustic piano track, and then builds momentum with a elegant string arrangement and a soaring chorus melody. The most impressive aspect of this recording is Tesolin's wide vocal range--she begins the song singing in a deep, rich voice, and then goes into a higher soprano range in the chorus." - Singer Universe.com

"Artist Profile Feature"

"When Aria sang "Habanera" from Carmen, the audience got goose bumps. There was a dearth of dry eyes." - West of the City Magazine, July 2007, printed publication, glossy magazine format

"The aptly named Aria Tesolin is a vocal prodigy..."

Tesolin holds her own among the adults, with a sweet clarity to her vocals that is both reflective of her age and surprisingly advanced. At seven Tesolin attended the opera Carmen, and claimed that she was destined to sing the eponymous role. She fulfills her destiny on "Carmen: Habanera," which she infuses with a floating quality, wholly appropriate for the part of the fiery gypsy with a mind of her own. One listen and it is clear that Tesolin has a deep understanding of the opera, and likely the French language, as she carefully places stress and intonation in all the right places, adding emotion and depth to her performance.

Though she can carry the more ponderous songs with ease, it is in the sprightlier songs that her youth works to her advantage and she really excels. In "Barbiere di Seville: Largo al factotum" she belts out opera with the same ease and joy that someone her age might sing a pop song. Her voice moves from cantering ululations that frolic with wind instruments to the more serious moments in the number with grace, showing a remarkable promise for the young singer. She closes this impressive 14-track album with Leoncavallo’s "Mattinata," which literally translates to "Morning Song." The lyrics are a greeting from a lover to his beloved, begging her to come down to him. Tesolin keeps her tone cheerful and matches the loveliness of the sweeping strings. The notes of hope are impossible to ignore in this song, and one gets the impression that Tesolin is truly only in the morning light of her love affair with opera. - Daily Om
