"Bub Luv shows off with new mixtape ‘All I See Is Mad Lights’"

When you think New Jersey music the automatic thought is New Jersey club. But Jersey has other artists like Joe Budden or Redman. Bub Luv is an artist under the same umbrella. With a sound similar to Lupe Fiasco, Bub Luv shows potential on his mixtape All I See Is Mad Lights.

The mixtape overall is very consistent with a very good sound throughout. The gloomy sound is perfect for his rap style. The Trenton native can be described as a hybrid between Lupe Fiasco, Joe Budden, and Kid Cudi.

The first half of the mixtape begins a little slow, as he took a chance with some of the beats, but it dumbs down his quality as a good lyricist. The mixtape picks up on the second half, as the gloomy beats match the style he is obviously comfortable rapping too.

Some of the tracks that stand out on this mixtape are “Air Up There Remix”, “Tomorrow”, “Intro”, and “Dreams.” This mixtape is worth listening to for anybody who enjoys that nice, laid back hip hop sound. If you like Joe Budden or Lupe Fiasco you will enjoy this artist as you listen to this mixtape.

Bio

In the small town of Trenton, between major cities such as Philly & New York, it is hard to stand out to the rest of the world, especially when it comes to music. But the town’s long wait is suddenly coming to an abrupt end, with the rise of a hip-hop marvel known as Bub Luv.

Born Jabbar Wair as a twin in 1988 to a mother of Puerto Rican decent and a father of Jamaican descent, Bub was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. Having lived in multiple parts of Trenton, his family settled in the Wilbur Section area where he attended Trenton Central High School, and soon earned the nickname
Bub Luv.

His family nicknamed him Bubbie as a child, but his peers called him Bub Luv because he was such a lady’s man. He has a way with words that can grab anyone’s attention, even in a town where kids often grow tremendously fast. In Bub’s rhymes he often shares his experiences with different females, and his understanding of them. Influenced by Big Pun, Nas, and Jay-Z, he first started to dabble into rap at the age of 18 with childhood friend Victor “Young Vic” Williams & younger brother Yusef “Mush Mack” Acosta. The Trio called themselves PAK Gang. They made music for fun, but suddenly decided to take their own paths as they got more serious.

Soon after the split Bub came across an old acquaintance, Craig “CJ” Burnett, who also rapped for fun, but was starting to venture into other things. After a discussion Bub, had decided to let CJ manage him despite inexperience. They also decided that there music will be 100% true, since than the two have been on a mission to take Bub Luv straight to the top.
