Bio

DCJames is a Singer, Guitarist and composer. In an age of lip synching he is the quintessential musician & the real thing. He could be described as an eclectic performer looking for that ultimate crossover hit, who cant be contained in too narrow a box. The genesis of this may be found in his early youth in Jamaica where he was exposed to many different styles of music much of it coming from the sole radio station at the time, RJR. Years later his single "little things" was a hit on Jamaican radio stations, seemingly forever. He is a guitarist and his guitar is a primary vehicle of expression, his canvas so to speak. Lyrics are also very important in telling his story and in speaking of his life, philosophy & Spirituality.

His extensive repertoire is organized around a number of program formats.
Performing Songwriter Program:
Features songs ranging in style from Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Folk and
Reggae / World Music to somewhat religious content (if appropriate).

Multicultural Program:
Seeks to promote the eclectic & inclusive, a coming together of cultures and genres in music, in the hope that this might help bring  people and society closer together. The  program celebrates Diversity with music,  anecdotes, thoughts and experiences from a storied life.

All Classical Program:
Features instrumental guitar music with classical and sometimes jazz influence & some vocals (if appropriate).

DCJames was born on the Island of Jamaica. At the age of nine he began his musical training on the local church organ. A few years later he changed to the bass and guitar. He formed a number of small groups and played many venues on the North Shore of the island before moving to CT where he lives with his spouse. He has performed recently in Connecticut at Western CT State Universivy; in Washington, DC; in Florida and Los Angeles, California. Audiences find his multicultural performances stimulating, often mind bending and full of musical wisdom. His CD Guitar Music & Songs and music downloads are available at his website harmonybaypublishing.com.

Some influences are Bob Dylan, Andre Segovia, James Taylor, Jose Feliciano, Bob Marley, Ray Charles, And Antonio Carlos Jobim.
