CD's:

Good Morning, The CD arrived on yesterday. I can honestly say your Christmas CD is my favorite. I don’t hear much dulcimer playing in Va. Beach except for my own.We are going to really enjoy hearing your CD during the Christmas season.
Thank you and may the Lord bless you richly, Linda S.

Workshops:

"Dan was a great addition to our event this past summer. He's a darn good musician with an open and relaxed stage presence and very solid teaching skills. Our dulcimer students loved his dual version (both easy and more difficult) song handouts."
-Janet Herman, Director, Redwood Dulcimer Day, Bonny Doon, CA

"Dan, Sat's workshop: we all thoroughly enjoyed and realize that we all need to have more sessions with you - if nothing else, to just repeat everything to reinforce it …!" Sally

Hi Dan, "I loved the workshop. As far as I know, everyone enjoyed it. I have been fooling around with the 3/4 strum and I love Sandy River Belle. I really liked the way you showed us how to improvise and the different ways of strumming and the progression from one chord to another." Lynn

Hi, Dan I bought your Christmas CD and tab book and wanted you to know that they are wonderful! I've listened to the CD numerous times already and will keep on enjoying it. It's almost like having you here to give me a lesson when I can listen and play along.

Thanks again for your inspiration and your music. Wishing you and your family blessings this Christmas season. Pam H.

Comments on Dan's Perfomances:

"Dan Daniels's one hour visit with KVIP listeners was a highlight of our Fall 2010 Shareathon. His in-studio music and his ministry-oriented conversation with our announcers made for a very listenable and worthwhile program. A recording of this hour is now in my personal collection." -Ted Hering, program director, KVIP, Redding, CA

"Dear Dan, I very much enjoyed your concert tonight. Thank you for coming. I liked it all. You do "Desperado" better than Willie does. I especially liked "When you and I were young, Maggie" as that is a favorite of my Dad's and I always liked it too. My friend and I bought 3 of your CD's between us with the idea of sharing. Sincerely yours, Bonnie S. Horse Creek, California

" I can only tell you how much you blessed us and our little church. It was wonderful beyond measure. I received much feed back and in every single case is overwhelming positive. Several uplifting comments indicated a real pleasure in you and your music. I can not begin to thank your sharing with us. I was truly inspired. I thought you presented a clear message and the music speaks for itself." Again Thanks, Thanks, Thanks Jerry Moore - Cloverdale Community Church - Anderson, CA.

"Dan Daniels brings a real down home feel, to down home tunes......enjoyable to the ears and heart." Laura Devine -"Dulcimer Girls" band.

Jo Ann Hedleston of KRFC-FM, Ft. Collins, CO says: "Dan is totally devoted to his instruments. He is heart and soul into the music and the way it gets shaped and flows out of the dulcimer." Jo Ann

"If you are looking for a great entertainer for your event who covers a broad spectrum of music, Dan Daniels is the one you need. Dan's traditional playing of the mountain dulcimer and clawhammer banjo will take you back in time two hundred years. But then he'll surprise audiences by singing a new song and make the old instruments sound contemporary. Dan's voice and delivery make audiences want to settle in and listen all day. Dan was my favorite set at the festival this summer!" Suzie Solomon Producer, GospelGrass Productions

" We brought Dan back again this year and had an even better time than the first – can’t wait for next year! " Bill Killion, Elko 1st Baptist, Elko, NV

"Dan Daniels combines the skills of an Ozark Mountain storyteller with musical craftsmanship and a heart for Jesus in a way that reaches every age group and is an encouragement to any church congregation." Pastor John Baker Grace Church, Molalla, Oregon - Various

"The message through music"

Despite venue change due to weather, gospel festival’s focus on faith remains the same
By Marisa Beahm

During his afternoon set at the Masonville Gospel Music Festival, musician Dan Daniels reminisced about his “old-timey” music and the pioneers who used to play it.

The music was what kept settlers’ spirits high as they trekked across the country, Daniels said.

On Saturday, that same music kept the audience’s mood elevated, even though the event was inside, rather than in a newly redone outdoor amphitheater.

The sixth annual festival, held at Buckhorn Presbyterian Church, 8762 N. County Road 27, featured a variety of musical styles, including bluegrass, country and a cappella — all centered on a spiritual theme.

The day was supposed to be the debut of the amphitheater, but because of rain, the event was moved indoors.
A pinch of sunlight streamed in through the stained glass behind the stage, giving the illusion of a sunny day, despite the incessant raindrops outside.

The early afternoon audience of about 100 people laughed and clapped along to the performances, which switched every hour.

Daniels, a Californian who was playing in Masonville for the first time, enjoys playing the music of the mountains and the people, he said

“It’s brighter and happier than most things out there,” said Daniels, while tuning an Appalachian dulcimer, which he made himself.

Even though the rain changed the venue, it couldn’t soak the spirits of audience members or detract from the message of the music.
