"Eric Lee Band to Headline Benefit Event"

Saturday's proceeds will be used to teach special-needs kids how to play guitar...

FAIRVIEW — A parking lot concert on Saturday will raise money for a program that teaches local children with physical or mental challenges how to play the guitar.

The entertainment will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Fifth Third Bank and Preferred Country Realty. The event will include music, karaoke, a car wash and an auction.

All proceeds will go toward funding, including guitars and supplies, for the special-needs guitar lessons' program Anyone Can Play, which is offered at the Fairview Public Library on Fridays, said Tony Seago, local guitar instructor and concert organizer.

Seago and local musician Lonnie Tuttle have been busy securing some of the best local talent to join them on stage including Brandon Evans and Ragan Hoffman. More good news came when they secured The Eric Lee Band to headline the event. The band's Web site describes its style as "smooth, modern alternative rock blended with solid grooves and melodic guitar riffs."

The special needs program, under the instruction of Seago, offers Fairview area children who have special needs related to physical or mental challenges a chance to learn how to play the guitar.

"I truly believe anyone can play, so that's the name of the program," Seago said. "This is my way of giving back to the Fairview community who has done so much for me."

Seago began teaching guitar lessons four years ago at the Fairview Public Library. His classes began to grow, forcing him to move to the Fairview Recreation Center. Now, the demand for his teaching has led him to expand his classes to Franklin and Spring Hill during the week with Fairview classes now offered on Saturdays.

"We hope this concert will serve as an awareness concert to let people know about
this program and what it can do for some special people," he said.

Donations to the program also can be made through the Guitar Music School Fund established at Fifth Third Bank.

Bio

The Eric Lee Band is one class-act on track to becoming the next premiere mega-hit.
Currently based in Nashville, Tennessee, this band lives up to all expectations of a native Music City group and more.
Their unique sound is a mixture of smooth modern alternative rock blended with solid grooves and tasteful melodic guitar riffs. Their stage presence is transcendent and inviting, while the music is entertaining and competently unhurried. With the majority of the songs basked in ultra-wet acoustic guitar, the music never overpowers the multitude of subtle nuances present throughout the band’s material. If you are hoping for an intimate evening of music and fine company, you will certainly find that with the Eric Lee Band.
Eric Lee is well-known for his supremely poetic lyrics that satisfy the soul and provoke the mind. He is a narrative master in the interpretation of real-life experiences and his fluency in storytelling is unsurpassed.
Married with a fantastic lyrical styling is a fresh and new, yet eminently familiar musical tapestry of beats and melodies interwoven with progressive and traditional bass lines. While tastefully incorporating musical influences such as John Mayer, Rob Thomas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a myriad of 80’s & 90’s artists, the Eric Lee Band maintains a rock solid original sound and musical attitude.
Their songs reflect a sincere passion for their craft and define the band as a unique and authentic combination of professional artisans. This is a must see, must hear band!
