Esther Grondahl has a pure, rich, colorful voice, comprised of all of the elements that you love in a true singer, yet she is down to earth. Esther is starting to get noticed by industry professionals. She performed at the Music Law Conference Meet and Greet in Gainesville, FL this past Feb.

Grondahl grew up in West Palm Beach, FL and started studying voice in high school. Her voice teacher at the time told her that it was more important to sing beautifully than to sing loud. She then moved to Tampa, FL to get her degree in Music Education. As an Elementary school music teacher, her true character is revealed. She loves the children that she teaches and they are lucky to have her as well. She truly enjoys people and the effect her music has on them. Her goal is to connect with people using her voice and songs.

To describe her voice in one word, it's magnetic. She sings in an utterly beautiful, passionate and soulful way. The lyrics of each song are sincere, moving, true life experiences, of which she is open about. She's not trying to market a pretty package and a perfect image. She is real and her recordings are done in one take. Nothing is fixed or made to appear better that reality. It is refreshing that she does not fit in any mold. She is vulnerable and puts everything on the table. Each song is meant to bring you to another place, even momentarily. She pours herself out, and the effect is a genuine honesty. Since Esther has had classical training, she has the control of a classical singer with the heart of a true Songwriter.

Esther believes that radio today is in need of change. In order for an artist to have a song on the radio, they have to have up to a million dollars to pay for airtime. They have to have investors, a big label backing them up and have to change themselves to please producers. Esther is familiar with this, because she turned down a record deal a few years back because she wasn't willing to trade in her creativity or herself. Her ballads are longer than usual, not fitting into the 3 minute mold of the radio. She is encouraged by internet radio and podcasting because it allows independent artists to have exposure.

Esther is motivated by her passion for singing and giving of herself. She simply wants to put herself out there and if people are drawn to her, that is their decision, and a smart on at that. She feels that people are more intelligent then radio gives them credit for. People would like diversity in the music they listen to. She just wants the public to be exposed to something different and unique; herself.
