About It Works

Of course Sonicbids helps connect artists with promoters, but we don't expect you to just take our word for it.

Here are the facts that prove it - the latest success stories, the top promoters, the hottest gigs, and the resources you need to be the next one to step into our member spotlight.

Member Spotlight Interviews
Hailing from Virginia, Atari Blitzkrieg has been recording and producing since 1995 and released his first single in 2007. He has worked with major names in underground hip-hop, Rapper Pooh, Louis Logic, Vast Aire, LMNO, Roc C and Wildchild among others, rock and folk singers and indietronica bands.

He also lends his production skills to artists signed to major and indie labels and launched a sub-label, Sheltered Fallout Records under Godsendant Music that puts out releases of all genres. He’s also known as the producer Krohme.

The rap, hip-hop artist’s lyrical content ranges from real-world issues (economy, poverty, war), to video games and fierce combative verbal barrages. His music has been selected for seven opportunities included here on Sonicbids, including recently being featured in the URB Magazine’s NEXT 1000. URB Magazine's annual NEXT 100 list has been the industry-lauded forecaster of artists on the brink. More than 6,000 readers per-month use NEXT 1000 to discover, discuss and vote for their favorite news bands.

“The exposure from that selection led me to do additional interviews (radio and web) and receive a bit more interest in my music from radio.”

Clinton Billups from Global Gaming Expo (G2E) sheds some light on G2E and what he looks for when selecting acts for the conference.

The Global Gaming Expo (G2E is the world’s largest conference and tradeshow for the casino entertainment industry. The event offers casino entertainment executives three days of artist showcases, panel discussions and tradeshow exhibits. The Entertainment Arena at G2E features musical attractions, comedians and variety artists suitable for casino lounges, nightclubs and showrooms.

Billups generally gets more than 100 submissions to the annual event. Whether it's a band, comedian or variety artist, G2E is looking for artists and attractions that are commercially suitable for casinos (namely artists who will attract a casino demographic) and who preferably have experience performing at casinos.

Here’s what he checks out when reviewing EPKs: bios, videos and audio (if it’s a musical act). “A good professional video is a must.” A sample of the entertainment he’s used in the past include tribute bands like Mr. Dynamite and Blue Suede Crew, as well as comedians Dick Hardwick and Pow-Wow Comedy Jam. These acts appealed to the 35-65-year-old casino demographic and were very well received.

G2E is currently accepting submissions for its fall show, taking place November 17-19, 2009 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Submit before July 15 at G2E Music Showcase, G2E Comedy Showcase and G2E Variety Showcase.
