This new album not only showcases Carver's writing style, it also proves that he has become a talented frontman as well. [...] Some of the best tracks on the release include "Bourbon and Blood," "Bitterhanded," and "Highway Miles." Like James Taylor, Warren Zevon, Van Morrison, and Tom Waits, Jacob Carver [...] has the talent to make it big with his songs someday. - Matheson Kamin

Bio
Jake Carver grew up in North Dakota without access to alternative radio, independent record stores, or even coffeeshops. Unable to take the Top 40 of the time, he found refuge in a classic rock station where he discovered deep cuts of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Blind Faith, Traffic, and others. While coming of age as a songwriter in the indie rock movement, he always returned to the sounds of the 1970s, forging a sound simultaneously nostalgic and new.
Jake plied his trade as an acoustic singer/songwriter for many years from Austin, Texas to Seattle, Washington. After releasing one full-length CD, Done Gone, as a solo artist, he decided he wanted to create songs with instruments closer to the ones in his head, and he allied with a full spectrum of backing musicians in the making of his second CD, Only Too Well, which came out in December of 2008. While he still picks up and plays his acoustic guitar, he has no plans to return to a solo act any time soon.
