"CD Release Party"

Everyday Peoples Entertainment Guide review:

At last; some "grown folks" music. Smooth, sensual and sensational. Don't get me wrong, I like the music with it's booming beats also. However -- and there's always a however in life -- I also like to hear that sit on the couch with your arm around your woman and groove music, too. The CD released by Jameelah is that and more.
With cover hits and original songs, Jameelah is a welcomed addition to the list of soulful women whose music makes you close your eyes and just smile. I'm waiting on the 2nd CD already!

"Jazz - Blues: Under The Lights - Jameelah"

“Musicians and Beauticians” - that’s the background neo-soul recording artist Jameelah says she comes from. Her latest CD release, Jameelah’s World, contains some lyrically strong songs (particularly those pertaining to relationships) that take us back to the time when feelings were poured out from the heart and into the public streets for any to share or relate to. I met Jameelah at a performance back in August of 2007. Her company, Jameelah Productions, was the sponsor of the event. Upon receiving a copy of her new CD, I had to agree with The Everyday Peoples Entertainment Guide radio host Reggie McDaniel, who calls her stuff, “grown folks music!”

After coming to Denver in 2000 by way of Kansas, and establishing her beautician business upon arrival, Jameelah set out to make her way in the Denver music scene. Not having any strong connections or a following, she started producing and performing at her own shows. Soon enough, her following grew into a respectably sized audience, with other artists who shared a similar style becoming more and more aware of whom she is. Jameelah mentioned that some fellow artists told her that to break into the scene in this town; she would have to compromise and play a significant amount of cover stuff, basically becoming a clone of other major label female artists. However, she refused to do so.

Her personal integrity and truth-to-self ultimately paid off. Jameelah has been well rewarded - receiving plenty of airplay in several major cities around the country, all the while performing regularly. Jameelah is also as good a person as they come. She represents what a woman is in their finest of forms: Classy, beautiful, dignified, and just plain ole’ nice! Check out the URLs below for more information about Jameelah, her new CD, and where she is performing. However, keep in mind - this stuff is “grown folks music!”

"Taxi's Song Review"

Song: Everything You Do Comes Back Your Way...

Style: Neo-Soul

Melody: Good music in verses.
I'm feeling the melodic build and progression to the chorus. Well done!

Lyric: Engaging, Cohesive, Good use of imagery, Rhymes well, Communicates emotion to listener and vocals help to sell the song.

You take a familiar proverb " what goes around comes back around" and spin it in a refreshing way. Good job!

Title: Your title is solid and is used in a way that lets the listener know that it's the title.

Other than the intro being a little too long and the choruses needing to be a little stronger, my overall comment follows....

Rasheedah~~

I like where you're going with this one. Your smooth vocal approach is fitting to the overall vibe of the song. I'm really feeling the movement in the bass line. Your hook is simplistic and to the point, the way the chorus should be. The vocal arrangements are soothing. you do a good job of switching it up doing the outro. Overall, I think this song is marketable and has promise. It gives me that "Easy listening/Light Jazz" feeling. In my opinion, you have a few options in marketability as your song can work in a few genres; that's an awesome quality to possess. You should definitely continue on the path you're traveling on because I can hear that you're doing what you are passionate about. Best wishes!
