Kel-Anne Brandt first enjoyed major success with country single Somewhere Between Love and Leavin’ and her versatility is sure to be a hit when she performs at Laycock St Theatre, North Gosford, on Wednesday.
“I am versatile and that versatility keeps me motivated,” Brandt said.
“It’s always a challenge to try to cater to everybody’s different musical tastes.”
Thrice nominated for Australian entertainment Mo and ACE awards and an international recording artist with distribution deals in the US, the future is looking bright for Brandt.
After managing herself and spending the past year seeking financial backing to record a new album without success, Brandt dubbed the Pocket Rocket for her diminutive size and powerful voice — was headhunted by management company Instinct NSW, which handles her business affairs.
“Having to manage the business side of things and deal with those stresses and then get up and perform can be really
tough. It can be very draining when you are trying to be creative,” she said.
“This company is very respectful of my creativity, which is extremely important to me as an artist.
“I’m relieved because it will open some extra doors, which wifi help secure finances for me to get back to the studio.”
Brandt will sing a selection of songs from the 1960s to now at the Wednesday matinee show, from 11am.

KEL-ANNE BRANDT TO SING FOR THE TROOPS
The tradition of Forces Entertainment tours goes back to before the Vietnam War. The performers are all volunteers.. Many previous performers, like Angry Anderson, have called their tours the experience of a lifetime so I'm hoping to have that kind of experience for myself.
I volunteered last year but didn’t hear anything, then a couple of months ago I got a call asking me if I would be interested in going and singing for the Troops, I gladly said yes and so this will be my first trip. I'll be part of the next tour to the Solomon Islands and my brother-in-law Izzy will also be going - he's in the Screaming Jets who are in the same tour. Small world!
We'll be on Guadalcanal, the main island of the Solomons. We won't get put up in fancy accommodation. We'll share the same food and drink, and sleep in the same type of accommodation as the Diggers who are on duty out there. We'll be singing at their main base near Honiara, the capital, and also putting on mini-shows at other places where they are on duty.
The Diggers are all part of Operation Anode. It’s the name for the Australian Defence Forces’ part in RAMSI, which stands for the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands. RAMSI began in 2003 at the request of the Solomon Islands Government.
Our soldiers - along with soldiers from three other Pacific nations - are supporting police from a total of 16 Pacific nations (including Australian Federal Police) as they back up the Solomon Islands Police Force in its task of restoring law and order. So I'll definitely have a multi-national audience.

KEL-ANNE BRANDT might be tiny,but her brand new CD I'm A Big Girl Now puts the bubbly performer right up there with the big guns of Australian country.
The album is full of classic hits and quality originals, all personalised by Kel-Anne's warm style. First single Sometimes You Win When You Lose has a compelling quality; you can hear the sunshine in the vocals. Title track I'm A Big Girl Now tells about facing the world with courage. Kel-Anne co-wrote two of the twelve tracks, Go Away Come Back written with DREW McALISTER, a snappy little song about how women change their minds mid-sentence (hey guys, it's our prerogative, remember) and Top Of My List written with

AFTER a five-year hiatus country crooner Kel-Anne Brandt is back in the saddle with a new album
While she has still been doing what she does best, singing, she hasn't released an album since 2003.
"I was gradually building up my material over the years," she said.
"We've ended up with a great line-up of songs and I am proud of every single one.
On her album I'm A Big Girl Now one of her personal favourites is her song Go Away, Come Back which was penned with her husband Bernard in mind.
"It's about how he rings me all the time but if he didn't ring me I'd be upset," she said.
At not quite 150cm Brandt could hardly be called a big girl but she said the title of her CD, and one of the songs, was about her emotional and musical growth.
"It's a song dedicated to all mums of daughters out there, it's a beautiful ballad about growing up," Brandt said.
This year Brandt was also nominated for a MO award for best female country vocalist for the fourth time in a row.
"It's great to be nominated for the award each year," she said.

"It's a really bright song, nice and breezy," she said.
"Its a positive spin on the bad times."
All of the songs on her album are personal stories for Brandt.
"They all mean something to me," she said.
"It's an album that I feel really attached to and that is really me."
Brandt will be at Budgewoi Soccer Club on Friday, at noon.

Kel-Anne Brandt
At 4ft 11” she is often nicknamed the “Pocket Rocket” or “Little Dynamo” as it always amazes audiences the power and energy that exudes from such a small little lady.
Kel-Anne was born in Cessnock NSW Australia, (Hunter Valley Wine Country) into a musical family. At the age of 2 Kel-Anne, with her mother and grandparents moved to the Regional town of Orange. It was there that she made her stage debut at 3 years old. This was also the beginning of her TV work appearing in Commercials at channel 8 in Orange. More recently she has appeared on Channel 7’s “All Saints”, then followed by a “St George” Bank commercial.
Kel-Anne’s teenage years were spent in Sydney NSW and after leaving school, she moved to Newcastle NSW where she studied singing at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music. Kel-Anne also appeared on NBN Channel 3 in Newcastle, Singing and performing in TV commercials.
An opportunity arose a few years later where she became one of the Singing Teachers at the
“Johnny Young Talent School” in Newcastle.
In 1991 Kel-Anne moved back to Sydney to further her Singing Career. In 1993 Kel-Anne re-married.
Things were looking great, when in 1997 whilst juggling family, a day job and a Singing Career she found herself faced with a life threatening condition. This made her realize that this was the time to make her career a success and to follow her dreams. She gave up her day job and with the help of great Doctors and Surgeons she was able to pursue her dreams.
Since 1997 Kel-Anne has recorded one promotional Album two EP’s plus two Commercial Albums the 1st one was Produced by a Legendary American Producer John Beland which included a duet with Brian Cadd.
In 2001 the single “Somewhere Between Love and Leavin’” became a Top 30 Hit. This was produced by Clive Lendich, who has also produced hits for Artists such as the Robertson Brothers.
In 2002 the Video clip of “Somewhere Between Love And Leavin’” launched Kel-Anne’s many performances on “Good Morning Australia” with Bert Newton.
January 2002 Kel-Anne was nominated as a Top Five Finalist in the Female Vocal section in the TIARA Awards.
In 2003 “Rodeo Eyes” Produced by John Beland became a Top 10 Hit on the National Country Charts and a Top 30 Hit on the Worldwide Mainstream Chart.
In 2003 Kel-Anne was nominated for the 28th Annual ‘Mo’ Awards for “Female Country Performer of the Year” along with Kasey Chambers and Beccy Cole.
Also in 2003 Kel-Anne was nominated for “Country Female Performer” in the 6th Annual Ace Awards.
In 2004 the Prime TV Show “Little Bit Of Country” featured a live performance of Kel-Anne in Victoria.
In 2004 Kel-Anne was honoured to be asked to perform at the Prestigious Victorian Country Music Awards along with Artists such as Troy Casser-Daly.
In 2005 due to International popularity Kel-Anne signed a Distribution only Deal with “Statue Records” in
Los Angeles for the Album “I’m Into Something Good”. Plus retail Distribution deal with “Tower Records” throughout the USA.
December 2005 Kel-Anne was Nominated again in the 30th Annual ‘Mo’ Awards for “Female Country Performer of the Year” with a “Certificate of Excellence in Live Performance” signed by Tommy Tycho.
June 2007 Kel-Anne was honoured to be invited by “The Forces Advisory Council on Entertainment” (FACE) to sing for the Aussie Troops and Federal Police in the Solomons. Kel-Anne was thrilled to perform alongside fellow entertainers The Screaming Jets, Brielle and Bev Killick.
2007 Kel-Anne was nominated for the 31st Annual Australia, ‘Mo’ Awards, in the “Female Vocal section”.
2007 also launched Kel-Anne’s “Country Divas Show” which thrills audiences wherever it goes.
In 2008 she had her 4th Nomination for the Mo Awards and 2nd Nomination for the 11th ACE Awards
Kel-Anne’s new Album ”I’m A Big Girl Now” Recorded at “The Valley Studio” with Producer Roger Corbett was released June 27th 2008.The 1st single “Sometimes You Win When You Lose” has been released to Radio with the Video Clip playing on CMC. The 2nd single “Top Of My List” the duet with Daniel Thompson was released December 18th 2008 and has already received award nominations in the 2009 TIARA Awards and the 2009 Victorian Country Music Awards. And it became a #1 Hit on the HOT FM Charts.
Kel-Anne has just had her 5th Nomination in the 33rd Australian Entertainment Awards for “Female Country Vocal Performer” along side Beccy Cole, Donna Boyd, Felicity, and Melinda Schneider.
It is said,”Kel-Anne has a Dynamic stage presence, with a remarkably powerful, passionate and beautiful voice and the ability to sing anything….. She is truly a “Versatile Entertainer”.
