Every now and then we get to see a GREAT example of someone communicating personally to their fan base. It doesn't take a fancy email system (though we have some great services to help). It doesn't take perfect grammar. It doesn't take much time.
It does take honesty. It takes dilligence in collecting people's email addresses. It takes a personal touch. All you have to do is tell people a little bit about you and tell them how grateful you are that they like your music.
Queensland's up-and-coming Luella wrote the fan email that inspired this "How To" article. Luella has recently finished recording a new album with Pacific International Music, the album features some of the finest Musicians in America and Australia including Musicians that played on hits from Faith Hill and Emmilou Harris Reba McEntire and Bob Segar.
The Album is due for release early May and will hit the airwaves soon after.
Songs from her previous albums Made the top 40 on Foxtels CMC and three of her tracks Made the top ten charts on Triple Js unearthed.
The release of the album will be followed by a film clip and extensive touring thoughout Australia and beyond. Luella has surrounded herself with some of the finest musicians in Australia, making Luella and the Heelers an act not to be missed.

I just wanted to touch base with you re your application for the 2011 Urban Country Music Festival. I was fortunate enough to be in Tamworth last week with a colleague and we went to Luella's show at the Services Club on Saturday evening.
On behalf of both of us, I just wanted to say - Wow! I think it was the best show we saw all week! It was an absolute pleasure to see Luella in action. The only thing was after seeing just how incredible she was, and how involved she gets with the audience, it would be a disservice to offer her any spots we have left at Urban this year. I will contact Denise Torenbeek and see if there is still space on the Songwriters Cafe program, but I really would like to save Luella for 2012 when we can offer her a spot in the evening at maybe the Village Hotel or somewhere that best suits her show and performance style.
If only you could bottle what she offers on stage! Her energy levels, incredible voice, engagement with the crowd - she is certainly an amazing woman. When her support (sorry, I can't remember her name) sang the song from the Bodyguard movie, we had tears in our eyes! The standing ovation they received was so very well deserved.
