Lisa Bigwood traveled an amazing road from backwoods country housewife and mom, splitting firewood, fixing up and living in an old abandoned house, working at a "job" full time, and washing dishes and laundry and more dishes and more laundry... to critically acclaimed songwriter and recording artist. Songs on her first two CDs made her a Kerrville Newfolk, Telluride Troubadour, and Chris Austin Memorial Songwriting finalist. Her 2010 - released CD, "Intrepid", received enthusiastic airplay and appreciation, putting it in the top 25 on the Folk DJ list, and on several Top Ten/ Favorite Lists for the year.
OK, she's still hauling firewood. A lot less dishes and laundry, though.
Lisa sees much in the world as if it is new and marvelous and surprising, as, for her, it is.
