As part of M.E.A.N.Y. FEST, finalists are chosen from performing bands by audience vote.
The M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2008 winner will be awarded recording time and lots of other great prizes. Here's the complete list:

Other prizes include 20 hours of Recording time, an appearance on the Warped Tour (courtesy of East Coast Independent), an appearance on Fearless Music TV (going out to 60 million households on network television across the country) and an appearance on a special Village Voice showcase (TBA).
The festival will take place in the fall of 08 and all finalists will also perform with a special guest act by December 30th, 2008 (venue TBA). During the finals, a winner and runner up will be determined by an industry panel.
Last year at M.E.A.N.Y. FEST, over 260 bands performed in the best NYC venues and approximately 15,000 people attended over the week of rock. Over 150 Sonicbids bands performed at last year's event.
This year's event will be an exciting one and will rock the best venues in NYC in the fall of 2008. M.E.A.N.Y. FEST showcased bands in 20 venues last year including Joe's Pub, Luna Lounge, The Knitting Factory, Arlene's Grocery, Lit, Mo Pitkens, Club Midway, and many more! Finalists also appear on Rockin Clubs' (Time Warner cable) which airs in almost half a million NY households. Many of the talented finalists and special guests who performed have since moved on to national tours and record deals. Congratulations to Everlea, just signed to Glassnote Records!
