Foghorn Records, based in Sydney, Australia, has been in operation for over 15 years and has become well known for developing new and emerging artists and licensing artists to territories such as UK/Europe, USA and Japan.
Foghorn Records is currently seeking new Australian and international artists to add to their roster both on the recording and publishing side. They are looking for bands in the Rock, Pop, Blues, Alternative, Dance, Punk, Reggae, World, Singer/Songwriter, Acoustic, Folk and other genres. Since they are a publisher as well, their main criteria is uniqueness and great songs and talent. The record label is distributed by Australia’s biggest indie distributor, MGM (John Butler, The Waifs).
Foghorn also owns its own studio (see www.damiengerard.net) which is often used as a production house and can be part of the artist deals they do. In addition, they offer a full service media company - Foghorn Media - which has an excellent record of publicity and promotional campaigns throughout Australia. All Foghorn retail releases and publishing provide royalty compensation to artists.
Foghorn also does many unsigned compilations, such as Grow Your Own, Upload One and Home Grown Roots, which not only go to media and retail but also to all Australian labels and industry. These compilations have become A&R tastemakers and are often a great way to start breaking an artist in Australia.
Over the years, many of Foghorn’s artists have performed at international festivals such as Montreaux (Pete Wells), SXSW (Montana, Noogie and Once upon a Time), Popkomm (Tecoma), Nemo (Tecoma) and virtually all the Australian festivals such as Big Day Out, Homebake, Blues and Roots, Peats Ridge, Fuse, NT Music, The Wami's and more.
With over 20 artists, Foghorn’s current roster includes Tecoma, Jude Elliot, Montana, The Bad Machines (UK), Beck Karllson (Sweden), Luke Koteras, The Honey Palace, Patrick Carr, Angelik, Kolliope and many more songwriters signed to their Publishing arm - Fogsongs Music. Some of their past success's include Noogie (Universal), The Panics(LBM), Once Upon a Time (Trauma/BMG), Pete Wells (Blue Rose GDR), Elysium (Last Call FR), Blue Ruin (Geffen) and many more.
