As part of Song Summit Sydney, APRA will be giving conference delegates the opportunity to receive advice and feedback on their music with Listening Panels.
These Listen to the Music sessions, will give delegates the chance to have their music discussed by a panel of industry specialists who write, listen to or select music for a living. A limited number of songs submitted by delegates will be chosen and discussed in front of an audience. The panels will demonstrate how industry professionals, such as A&R executives, publishers, songwriters, producers and radio programmers, choose the music they do – and why. All S3 3-Day conference attendees are invited to submit songs for consideration.
But wait…… THERE’S MORE…..As part of the Listen to the Music submission process, you also have the opportunity to submit for a live showcase performance.
The Play the Music Showcase is an APRA|AMCOS hosted showcase for up and coming songwriters to showcase their talent.
The Play the Music Showcase will take place on Thursday 3 April 2008 (8:00pm – 10:00pm) and there have been 3 performance opportunities allocated.
You must be registered to attend the Song Summit Sydney conference 3 day pass in order to submit a song. Song submission ends on 11 March 2008. You will be asked to enter your registration number from your confirmation email and submit your original song with a lyric sheet.
The first stage in the selection process will be online Song Submission powered by Sonicbids. Each S3 registrant may submit up to three (3) original recordings of original musical compositions written or co-written by that registrant.
If you don’t have internet access and would prefer to submit your music on cd, please address your submissions to:

If your song(s) is selected during the screening process, you will be notified in advance of Song Summit Sydney commencing. Notification will be made via email. Do NOT call the Song Summit Sydney office asking if your song(s) has been selected for the S3 Listen to the Music Panels or for the Play the Music Showcase.
The Listen to the Music Panels are not a contest or competition judging the “best” songs. The panel is simply choosing songs for open review and discussion during Song Summit Sydney. You are expected to be in attendance to discuss your song, if selected and therefore will not be able to attend a competing session on another topic. If you are not in attendance, your song may not be reviewed.
