JanSport® has teamed up with the Forecastle Festival to give you a chance to share the stage with some of the best musicians out there with a performance slot at Forecastle 2010. Each year, thousands of fans and dozens of key music industry reps attend Forecastle, the largest gathering of musicians, artists and environmentalists in the midwest.
2009 performer include Widespread Panic, Black Crowes, Black Keys and The Avett Brothers. Other previous Forecastle performers include Band of Horses, Girl Talk, De La Soul, Sleater-Kinney, VHS or Beta and Apples in Stereo, amongst many others.
The winner will be announced at the "Halfway to Forecastle" concert in January 2010 in Louisville, Kentucky. The selected artist will receive up to $5,000 towards any lodging and costs associated with the travel to Forecastle 2010.
How it Works
Artists will be entered into a voting competition where fans will choose 25 semi-finalists. JanSport will then narrow it down to finalists, who will be entered into a second round of fan voting. Full judging criteria is outlined in the official contest rules.
