WINTERFOLK – the Great Indoor Music Event – FOURTH YEAR!
Toronto’s Winterfolk Festival is selecting artists to fill showcase stages on February 3, 4, 5, 2006
Showcase winners will be offered full WINTERFOLK festival publicity and will be included in artist promotion and exposure. There are 8 performance slots available. We will post selected performer's pictures and bio on the WINTERFOLK website and print a listing in the festival program; advise press and prominent industry people about set times and locations; allow unlimited performer and backstage privileges; grant full access to ALL festival events including other performances and music industry seminars; sell their CDs at festival store; schedule good stage opportunities between larger drawing acts - and we will do everything we can to ensure your WINTERFOLK weekend is a rewarding personal and musical growth experience and a large step forward in your career. Letters from last years' showcase winners are posted on the website.
The event will also include workshops for guitar playing, songwriting, industry seminars for musicians, and more. WINTERFOLK is committed to offer performance opportunities and public exposure to new or emerging artists - and all artists with little or no festival experience.
WINTERFOLK encourages genres including but not restricted to singer/songwriter, roots, blues, acoustic, folk, ethnic, pop, world, native and country. The festival does NOT accept hard rock, rap and hip hop.
WINTERFOLK is a division of 'The Association of Artists for A Better World' http://www.abetterworld.ca, a registered Non-Profit Organization in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
