transmitLIVE is a creative industries festival that embraces the creative genius of content by showcasing creators in a wide range of disciplines, integrating music, media art and lifestyle with cutting edge digital technology. transmitLIVE will be held in the stunning city of Victoria, BC on February 10th & 11th of 2011. Taking advantage of BC's reasonably mild winters allows for a festival when the majority of the country’s major cities are in hibernation. The unique “outside the box” festival format together with Transmit Now Global Summit will attract over 3000 people between the ages of 19 – 50 to the city core over 2 days.
transmitLIVE is a Festival that:
- Showcases music, video, film, media art, dance and slam poetry.

All transmission showcasing artists are guaranteed the following:

As transmitNOW evolves from a boutique music industry event into a premier event for creative industries, transforming the transmitLIVE model to embrace this change is essential. By expanding the festival from a 1-venue 2-stage model into a multi-venue, multi-disciplinary event allows a wider range of creators to showcase their progressive idea’s in articulating their art forms.
Market Square the main showcase venue will be winter proofed and transformed into a visual spectacle for the audience. Live electronic, urban and new age live performers who integrate different forms of digital media into their live shows will be selected to perform on 2 different stages allowing for smooth transitions between artists throughout the night. VEC, the secondary showcase venue will focus on the integration of music with lighting, visuals and art installations to create a truly unique festival experience and atmosphere. Regional and domestic Indie rock & rock emerging artists will be selected to play at VEC. The chosen artists involved in this showcase event will be juried and decided upon by the transmission producers in association with key members of transmission’s advisory members, music journalists and practiced promoters.
