The University of Pennsylvania SPEC organizes Spring Fling, the biggest (and best) college festival on the East Coast and a Penn tradition in existence for 35 years. Each April, nearly 10,000 students and their friends get a chance to revel in the sun before final exams begin.
Hosted by the Social Planning and Events Committee (SPEC), each Spring Fling consists of a carnival with games and events, a concert hosting the hippest new bands, and the Quad Concerts, which showcase some of the hottest local bands and performers.
SPEC Spring Fling will be held from April 15th until 16th on the University of Pennsylvania's campus. Timeslots are for 15-30 minutes. Music performances consist of a wide variety of genres and styles, including electric and acoustic. Local and acts touring through the area are encouraged to submit. A PA system and sound technician are provided.
There is no compensation for artists at this event, but the event will provide bands with plenty of exposure to a large number of college students in the Philadelphia area.
