Home Grown Music (HGM) provides physical distribution to indie stores, major one-stops and web outlets like Amazon.com, etc. There are over 200 artists currently on their roster, including The Allman Brothers Band, Grace Potter and Phish. Their distribution deals are non-exclusive, but if an artist is already working with a major distributor, most likely they can't help out. HGM is offering a minimum of one Sonicbids artist per season a free distribution deal.
Their catalog is diverse, eclectic, deep, and pretty cool. HGM primarily sells music that they personally like and that they think others will like, particularly jam, improv, funk, jazz, fusion, rock, reggae, blues, americana, newgrass, roots and world artists.
The selection process will be based on how well the music fits with their current catalog, level of the career of artist, and overall quality. You must have at least one previously released, full length album in order to be considered.
Some artists they distribute are Ratdog, Widespread Panic, Xavier Rudd, SOJA, Lotus, moe., Moses Guest, New Monsoon, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Disco Biscuits, Ekoostik Hookah, Papa Grows Funk, Perpetual Groove, Ryan Montbleau, Steve Kimock, Cornmeal, Deep Banana Blackout, Donna the Buffalo, New Mastersounds, Freekbass, Garaj Mahal, Hot Buttered Rum, Jam Cam, Karl Denson, Strangefolk, The Slip and many, many more.
