INDIE WEEK CANADA is an unique international music festival looking for the next big thing to bring to Ireland. Industry professionals from fields ranging from A&R, booking, labels, legal, management, press, and production, judge each artist showcase to determine which band is the "best of the fest." The prize is unlike any other: a partial-expenses paid trip overseas to perform for INDIE WEEK IRELAND 2011.
INDIE WEEK IRELAND is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the country with high-calibre Irish acts and to perform for Irish music-industry professionals.
INDIE WEEK prides itself on being an artist-friendly festival dedicated to providing valuable networking and exposure opportunities. Having industry judges at showcases ensures industry in the room. In the past, artists have gone on to work with producers, managers, booking agents, labels, publicists, and lawyers - all as a result of meeting at INDIE WEEK. Artists must impress!
- Vesta Varro (voted best band 2007) acquired a booking agent in Germany and secured showcases in Canadian Music Week and Rogers Spring Music Festival as a result of participating in INDIE WEEK CANADA.
- Walter Mitty and the Realists (voted best band 2008) acquired Canadian management and secured a high-profile showcase in Canadian Music Week as a result of their participation in INDIE WEEK. They had this to say:
"For us, playing Indie Week was easily one of the wisest moves we've made as a band. Not only did we get to play to amazing crowds and see numerous deadly bands in some of Toronto's coolest venues, but each show was attended by a variety of industry reps! It's unique in its concept, and we made so many valuable contacts. We are absolutely delighted to have won it...Indie Week is a valuable resource."

The festival is strategically scheduled to take place in October between Pop Montreal, CMJ, and Halifax Pop Explosion, giving international and local acts an opportunity to maximize their touring budgets by taking part in more than one festival during October.
85% of the artists selected will be Sonicbids artists.
INDIE WEEK works with many of Toronto's top downtown venues including The Horseshoe Tavern, Bovine Sex Club, The Hideout, The Cameron House, El Mocambo, Holy Joe's, The Reverb, The Rivoli, and Velvet Underground. Last year, four amazing nights featured 100 high-quality North American and European acts across ten venues.

TESTIMONIAL:
"We submersed ourselves in the culture of Indie Week 2009 and checked out as many venues and bands as we possibly could...Also, we were able to hear feedback about a song on our EP from a panel of judges, which gave us better direction when submitting Press Kits and demos to agencies. Indie Week 2009 surpassed all of our expectations and we hope that we're invited back for 2010!"

"We played at INDIE WEEK for the first time in 2006. We came back in 2009 and the festival has grown tremendously since then. It was a great experience because we had the chance to meet several people in the industry. It brought new opportunities to our band and it was one of our best shows in Toronto yet. We will come back next year for sure."

"Indie Week was an amazing experience allowing us to play cool venues in front of new fans and showcase our talent in front of industry professionals. Going out to watch, support and network with other bands resulted in solid leads on booking our own tours and meeting new friends. Darlings of Chelsea would recommend Indie Week to any bands looking for top notch exposure and a great week of music. Ireland is going to be a blast!"
