The Independent Music Conference (IMC), presented by IndieGate.com and now in its fifth year, is the only event of its kind. The IMC focuses on what's really important at a music conference: education and networking. This year's event will once again be held at the Sheraton Society Hill in Philadelphia, August 29th - September 3rd, 2007. The IMC focuses on education and networking, but there will be some performance opportunities - our first choices will be announced on June 15th, 2007.

The IMC is a five day event with an overstuffed schedule of workshops, panels and seminars, all packed to the point of overflow. Networking opportunities are maximized and as many as 70 industry professionals attend year after year. Here is just one example of the incredible testimonials we get each year: "I learned more listening to the panelists at the IMC than any other seminar on the East Coast!"
IMC06 featured such notable industry attendees as Phil Nicolo - famous Philly Producer; Dave Uosikkinen - drummer for the multi-platinum Hooters; Christine Ohlman - lead singer for the Saturday Night Live band; Billy Graziadei of Suicide City; and Ravi, who toured and performed with Hanson during their best selling year.
Our sponsors this year include IndieGate.com, Sonicbids, Disc Makers, Sennheiser, Indie Bible, Tower Records, Songsalive!, CT Songwriters Association, The Junior Music Executive Program, and many more.
The IMC focuses on important topics for independent musicians, including: legal issues, digital rights, digital distribution, hearing and voice protection, CD project planning, performance and rehearsal education, financial info, tax info, business planning, alternative revenue streams, marketing and promotion, sales techniques, technical issues, gear education, booking advice, management info, publishing education, contract negotiations, copyright education, and so much more.
Your fee also includes one FREE product set-up at IndieGate.com, where you can sell your indie CDs and merchandise online. When you register for the IMC, you also get this $30 value.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Performances are not the main objective of the IMC. It is first and foremost an educational event. You must commit to be an attendee of the IMC to become eligible to perform, meaning at least one artist must purchase a registration (the registration fee for this opportunity is combined with the submissions fee).
