Modern Sky Entertainment, producer of the Modern Sky Festival and home to China's largest independent record label, is looking for bands for the 2011 edition ofthe Modern Sky Festival. The festival has reserved at least two performance slots for Sonicbids artists to perform at Modern Sky Festival 2011. One slot is for a band from North America, Europe, Australia or New Zealand – and will be paid $4,000 for travel, courtesy of Sonicbids and Modern Sky Entertainment. The other slot will be for a band from China. Both selected bands will be provided with transportation, meals and deluxe accommodations while in Beijing. Modern Sky will also work with the selected international act to get their visas.

Founded in 2007, the Modern Sky Festival is China's largest music and arts festival. The festival features over 120 bands and DJ's on three stages over a five-day period. The Modern Sky Festival 2011 will again take place in Haidian Park in the heart of Beijing in October 2011.

Past performers include the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, T+T (DFA Records), Camera Obscura, Brett Anderson, Rebuilding The Rights Of Statues, and many others. In addition to live music, the festival features art installations, interactive film/photo/fashion/action-sports events, a marketplace, and food and drink pavillion.


About Modern Sky:

Modern Sky's primary focus is to locate and promote international music & culture and integrate it into the festival, while also advocating internationally for Chinese new music. Modern Sky Concerts produces 200+ concert events in mainland China per year on average. Productions in 2009 include:
