Summary

The 2011 Mamapalooza Creativity & Lifestyles Conference and Festival is an opportunity for families to come together in a collaborative effort to promote the arts. The festival is accepting singer/songwriters, solo or duo acoustic acts, spoken word artists, of all kid friendly genres. At least one member of the project must either be a mom or a dad artist. Several performance slots will be held for Sonicbids members./n/nThe 2011 Mamapalooza Creativity & Lifestyles Conference and Festival is an opportunity for families to come together in a collaborative effort to promote the arts. The Moms Rock for Kids Concert, festival and informational workshops (to benefit The Museum of Motherhood) will be held May 21st through May 24th, 2011 in various New York City stages and venues. Mamapalooza Inc. connects mothers through music, art, activism and education for cultural, economic and social awareness. The festival is accepting singer/songwriters, solo or duo acoustic acts, spoken word artists, of all kid friendly genres.



Live loud, stand up and be heard on Mamapalooza's Premier New York City Stages. Mamapalooza is seeking talent from Canada, England and Australia as well. Since its debut in 2002, Mamapalooza has garnered media, TV and radio opportunities reaching into the millions, and festival audiences in excess of 100,000. Mamapalooza is the premier stage for performing women, moms, dads and kid bands. Exposure includes media outlets, CD compilations, ongoing Green events, showcases, radio and baby expos.



In association with the New York Parks Department, Mamapalooza will be hosting an all day free outdoor Family Festival of (adult and children's) music, crafts, activities, dance, poetry and performance on The Hudson, on Sunday May 22nd from 11am until 6pm. Other festival days will include performances in NYC indoor venues, a Bowery venue and at Marymount College.



The Mamapalooza main festival stage is open to submissions from:



  • Mom talent (lead singers, songwriters, players)

  • Kid bands whose members are 16 or younger

  • Family bands

  • Dad bands featuring members who are dads

  • Grandma bands



Please note: At least one member of the project must either be a mom or a dad artist. Several performance slots will be held for Sonicbids members. First time performers have gone on to become featured parks performers in subsequent years, propelling them into the spotlight, and reaching thousands of new fans.
