The story of the Great Lakes Songwriting Contest begins in 2003, when a group of Detroit-area songwriters took on the mission of promoting the great original music from our area of the world. They went from hosting a local contest to hosting a statewide contest, and finally to organizing the Great Lakes Songwriting Contest.
