The festival has won a VisitScotland Thistle Award in 2009 and is a past winner of the Grassroots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards. Taking place on the 5th and 6th of August in 2011, they have guaranteed at least one performance slot for a Sonicbids artist - compensation includes a negotiable fee and meal. Belladrum is a festival of fantastic music crossing all genres - indie, rock, dance DJ, Celtic, Celtic rock, blues, roots, singer-songwriter and many more. It also features a variety of performing arts including dance, theatre, street theatre, cabaret & burlesque, comedy, poetry, literature, drama, and debate. Past performers include Feeder, Amy Macdonald, The Wailers, Candi Staton, Levellers, The Divine Comedy, Abagail Grey, Alan Grant, Twin Atlantic and many more.
This is a friendly, truly all-ages event with plenty to do for everyone. The theme for 2011 is space, so fans are encouraged to dress up with spaced-theme costumes (Star Wars, Star Trek, Rocky Horror, Major Tom, the planets, etc). Belladrum is also a camping festival, with yurts and tipis available to rent for the duration of the festival.
