Summary

The best way to celebrate summer, The Capitol Hill Block Party is a weekend-long block party featuring over 50 of the best bands and DJs on four stages, multiple beer gardens, community activists, artists, food booths, the new Decibel Festival Electronic Music Stage and local politicians who are working to support the Seattle music community. The event is a huge, two-day explosion of bands and a great opportunity to see the most exciting new music from the best music scene in the country all while supporting great non-profit programs like The Vera Project and Home Alive. This year's event takes place on July 27 & 28.

Friday July 27th will feature performances by Silversun Pickups, Girl Talk, Viva Voce, The Cave Singers and Grand Archives. Saturday July 28 will feature performances by Spoon, Aesop Rock, The Blakes, The Intelligence, and The Whore Moans.

There is at least one slot reserved for Sonicbids members. Selected artists will be compensated for performances. Genres accepted include rock, indie rock, punk, hard core, metal and like genres. No jazz, acoustic or country.



Previous performers include: Sleater-Kinney, Built to Spill, Mudhoney, The Presidents of the United States of America, The Gossip, Pedro the Lion, The Thermals, Minus the Bear, The Melvins, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Silversun Pickups, The Supersuckers, These Arms Are Snakes, Band of Horses, Mary Timony, Blood Brothers, Helio Sequence, Six Organs of Admittence, and many more.
