Winnipeg's most distinctive music venue now attracts over 30,000 music lovers a year to hear dynamic artists from outside the mainstream. Flexible programming, great acoustics and an intimate atmosphere have brought the WECC into the national spotlight with three Western Canadian Music Awards for Venue of the Year.
The WECC is a 300 capacity venue and accepts submissions from folk, roots, rock, indie, jazz, blues, and world music artists. Compensation will be negotiated on a show-by-show basis.
As an urban cultural centre, the WECC recognizes that appreciation of the arts goes beyond sitting in an audience and they actively work towards bringing artists and community members together to learn, share and grow. The WECC organizes programs for neighborhood children, provides valuable work experience for people involved in community service programs, and provides resources for local artists and community groups.

The West End Cultrual Centre is currenbtly undergoing an extensive renovation and redevelopment, estimated to be completed in december 2008. Throughout the fall we are presenting very limited numbers of concerts. Artists will be more likely to be selected for a headlining spot at the West End Cultural Centre if they have some sort of experience playing the Winnepeg market.
