Fueled by the idea that music can be created anywhere, The Unique Squared Mobile Studio is traveling the country heading to every major music festival, conference, and tour. This year on select stops on the tour, they will record, mix, and release a mixtape with artists scheduled to perform at upcoming festivals. And that is where you, the producer, comes in. They're looking for producers to submit their hottest, professionally mixed and release-ready instrumental material to be part of the several upcoming mixtapes.
Submitting no more than three (3) instrumentals with clear, flowing, and distinct song structure (intro, verse, chorus, etc.) will fare greater chances of getting picked; however, top quality and artistry is paramount so if you have a basic 4 - 8 bar loop that is absolutely 'next level', submit it. But please keep in mind that they are looking for your best work. A minimum of two Sonicbids producers will be chosen for each mixtape. You will need proof of sample clearance, should your submission(s) contain samples.
Past artists include Homeboy Sandman, El Da Sensei, and J-Live and producers such as DJ Rhettmatic, Tall Black Guy, and D.R.U.G.S. This is a non-paying gig, but is an excellent high publicity/visibility opportunity. It is highly recommended you be a member of a PRO (ASCAP, BMI, etc.) in order to obtain performance royalties.
With a fully functional recording studio built into a tour bus with room for a full band including drummer, keyboardist, guitars and vocalists. And in the spirit of the original “on site” recording, there is also a control room where tracks can be cut, edited and mixed on the spot. Last year's debut Mobile Studio (Version 1.0) and subsequent mixtape (The Beats & Lyrics 2 Go A3C Mixtape) was an enormous success, being picked up by blogs like 2Dopeboyz.com and Kevinnottingham.com.
