The Blues Train is a unique entertainment and dining experience aboard a moving steam train. Operating out of Queenscliff, Victoria, The Blues Train runs Saturday nights, with additional Friday night shows in December. The Blues Train is a unique entertainment and dining experience aboard a moving steam train. Operating out of Queenscliff, Victoria, The Blues Train runs Saturday nights, with additional Friday night shows in December. There are 2 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists to perform at the event in 2012.
Selected artists will be compensated for their performances, with fee to be settled at the time of booking. Four acts are booked for each show, with acts performing four 30-minute sets broken up with a 30 minute break. The Blues Train selects acts at least 4 months prior to the date of the show. A sound system including vocal mics is provided. A sound person is available during set up only. The four carriages on the train will feature a solo act, a duo, a trio, and a full band (up to 5 pieces).
Cover bands are discouraged from applying- they are looking for original artists.
The Blues Train has hosted a range of quality blues acts including Jimi Hocking, Jaimi Faulkner band, Greens and Gravy, Ash Grunwald, Mia Dyson, CW Stoneking, Spectrum, Chubby Rae and the Elevators, Dave Steel, Chris Wilson and Dallas Frasca and her Gentlemen. International acts include Charlie Parr and Hamilton Loomis.
