Now in its 25th year, the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is the largest blues festival west of the Mississippi River, and one of the largest music events of any kind in the Pacific Northwest. In 2010, approximately 125,000 people attended the festival over four days. This year’s festival will be held July 4-8, 2012, with four stages at McCall Waterfront Park, in downtown Portland, Oregon on the banks of the Willamette River.

The late Paul deLay and his band are joined by IBC winner Fiona Boyes and Pinetop Perkins, celebrating his 90th Birthday, at the Festival in 2003. The Festival's  July 4th lineup ends with Portland's largest Fireworks display. Dozens of yachts catch the action from the alternating two main stages at the  West Coast's largest blues festival Roy Rogers, Steve Miller and the late Norton Buffalo filled the park in 2006. The West's largest blues festival: four days, 125 acts, four stages, daily crowds of more than 25,000. Record opening night crowd turns out for North Mississippi Allstars, Walter Trout and Taj Mahal.
