Bobtjes Blues Pages is a Belgian network dedicated to the promotion of national and international independent blues artists. Bobtjes publishes CD reviews, reviews of live performances, a concert calendar, press communications, blues news, interviews and much more. Their network has more then 30 contributors and they also produce a weekly blues podcast.
Bobtjes also has an acclaimed podcast offered to selected artists. The podcast appropriately titled, "da Blues", is a weekly, non-stop show. Each show runs for about 20 minutes. As a registered user of the Podsafe Music Network, Garageband, ArtistLaunch Soundclick and others, they have access to a large supply of blues music. Selected artists will be listed on the playlist, featured on Bobtje Blues Blog and on the Interpod site with worldwide exposure including more then 100 RSS subscribers a week with 15 downloads a day; many of them in the United States.
The Bobtjes Blues Pages is a private initiative out of love for the blues. In the past years, Bobtjes Blues Pages supported and promoted mainly Belgian and Dutch blues bands and artists, with no intention of stopping. However, blues is not limited, nor was it born in those countries. All over the world, people make blues music, while others just listen to it. After so many contacts at all those blues festivals and concerts, meeting the blues musicians on national and international levels, it became obvious that Bobtjes had to publish in English also. The website improved and expanded, and also started Bobtjes Blues Blog which is updated almost daily. Because of the many requests they received by artists to be featured, either on the website or blog, they were forced to separate the editorial content from the rest. Therefore, Bobtjes Blues Pages became a V.Z.W. (Non-profit Association) that allowed them to cover all costs in a legal way. They can now place banners, sell promotions and so on.
