Want to play at Sonicbids Official SXSW party presented by JanSport? JanSport, SXSW and Sonicbids have teamed up to give you the chance to hit the stage in Austin this Spring and have your travel expenses covered by JanSport. Past performers include The Temper Trap, The Parlotones, Dead Confederate, Bad Veins, and Family of the Year.
All bands who have submitted to SXSW are eligible to submit to this opportunity for FREE, courtesy of JanSport. A panel of judges will nominate the Top 50 artists, who will move to a round of public voting beginning January 2012. From there, the Top 10 vote-getters will become finalists and will be reviewed by JanSport and Sonicbids. The Battle of the Bands winner will be announced in early February and will be headed to Austin in March for SXSW to play at the Sonicbids Official SXSW party, presented by JanSport. Additionally, the Grand Prize winner will receive up to $5,000 to cover travel expenses as well as free JanSport gear!
The ten finalists will receive a prize package from JanSport that includes a JanSport original Right Pack and luggage set valued at $500 each.

South by Southwest Music and Media Conference is one of the largest, most influential, and most anticipated music events of the year. In 2011, SXSW Music drew over 16,000 music industry professionals for compelling panels, industry discussions, demo listening sessions, trade show exhibits, and - of course - five nights of music by no fewer than 2,098 acts hailing from 57 different countries, performing in 90 venues in downtown Austin, Texas.
Please Note: Bands must be physically located in and currently residing in the fifty (50) United States and Washington D.C. ("U.S."), age 18 or older at time of entry. Full judging criteria is outlined in the official contest rules. You must have submitted to SXSW through their official platform on Sonicbids to be eligible for this opportunity.
