Film Summary:

A young woman's struggle to empower herself and rise above the hard life set out for her.

Tracks are needed for the following scenes:

  • Male Lead Intro/Truck - The film is looking for a song similar in tone / vibe / feel as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It should be more upbeat than their song "Beat the Devil's Tattoo" retaining its heavy instrumental, raw, unpolished quality. The song would be played as the movie's male Hispanic lead is introduced into the movie, as he drives into town in his truck. It's possible the song is playing on the truck radio.

This music can be used for another scene needing similar music. SCENE 56: Same tone/vibe/feel as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s “Beat the Devil’s Tattoo” or White Stripes. The song would be playing on the jukebox in the background while a group of friends play pool in a smoky hall.

  • Sex Scene - The film is looking for a sensual, mellow indie / trip-hop song similar in tone / vibe / feel as "Shelter" by The xx and earlier Massive Attack (such as "Angel"). It's night and the song plays during a sex scene montage in the male lead's candle-lit studio with the moonlight shining down on them.

  • Gangster/Villain driving (angry) - The film is looking for an exotica-influenced song with the same tone / vibe / feel as Arthur Lyman's "Misirlou" or The Vanguards. The gangster villain checks his hair in the mirror of his truck before firing up his engine – and the music turns on. He is mad.

  • Tavern - The film needs Latin Rock for a scene inside a tavern where important exposition happens.

  • Blazing Through Night - The film is looking for a haunting Mexican song with the same tone / vibe / feel as Caifanes' "La Llorona" or "La Bruja." The music plays ominously in the background, ringing through the dark air as a Griselda Blanco-type character blazes through the night in fury.
