Gary Allen's SONGAPALOOZA is an international songwriting contest for amateurs and professionals. Founded in 2005 by Gary Allen drummer/songwriter/founding member of the Grammy award winning group, The Charlie Daniels Band. Gary Allen, drummer from The Charlie Daniels Band (The Devil Went Down To Georgia, The Souths Going To Do It Again!, Long Haired Country Boy), Grammy award winner JJ Cale (Cocaine, After Midnight, Call Me The Breeze) and Opry Star Stonewall Jackson (Don't Be Angry, Waterloo) are seeking original songs to evaluate for use by bands, soundtracks and licensing through his connections as a BMI writer and performer. Year five of this international competition will be featured in The Examiner, My Space, Reverbnation, Facebook, and in Gary Allen's Music City Beat monthly newsletter. Winners will appear on his new official website The Music City Beat with a personal music review of the artist. Gary Allen is played somewhere on the planet every 4 seconds according to BMI and has earned 7 platinum, 1 triple platinum and 4 gold albums on seven record labels with three international artists. Your CD or winning track will be played and distributed weekly at Music City Underground meetings in my Nashvlle, Tennessee studio (formally Play It Again Jam). Music City's longest running pro musicians party/meet & greet, that includes an audience of investors, talent scouts, A&R, radio programming directors as well as recording artists and label management. Gary has sponsored this event and hosted it since 2005.
