She's the One Emerging Female Artist Competition

The She’s the One Emerging Female Artist Competition is a cross-Canada talent search and contest for Emerging Canadian Female Music Talent! You probably already know that there is an incredible amount of undiscovered female musical talent in Canada. She’s the One Emerging Female Artist Competition wants to prove it and have those artists play at this year's RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest! With the help of our sponsor boom 99.7, we want to support emerging Canadian female musicians. The competition is open to female singers/songwriters or bands with a female member of any age, who are Canadian residents.

There will be two categories which artists can submit to, Solo Perfomers (a female lead singer who also plays an instrument) or Bands (means two or more people in the act/group, with a female lead singer or lead performer if you are an instrumental band).



Initial submissions will be judged on your Sonicbids EPK, especially the quality of performance shown in your submitted video clips. RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest will review these submissions, and three finalists will be selected from each category. These six finalists will have a 20 minute slot to perform LIVE at the RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest for a professional jury, on Saturday July 7th, 2012 with one winner chosen from each category. Judging will be based upon a developed criteria including performance, stage presence/showmanship, originality, musicality, audience reaction and ‘It’ factor.

Winners of each category will receive a cash prize:

• Solo Category winner will receive $2,000


• Band Category winner will receive $5,000

You are eligible for this competition if:

1. You are female lead singer of your act or band OR, if you are an instrumental band, you are the lead performer in your act or group


2. You and your act/band/group are all residents of Canada


3. In addition to the above items, the competition is open to all ages, all genres of music, signed and unsigned artists
