Summary

Focus Wales is a 3 day Music Festival & Conference held at multiple venues in Wrexham, North Wales, UK. The festival will feature 100+ acts, and takes place over the weekend of the 25th, 26th & 27th of April 2013. Submissions are open to all artists, no matter your location. There are 4 performance slots reserved for acts based in the UK, and 4 performance slots reserved for International acts outside of the UK.

With music industry panels and discussions, featuring experts from all sectors of the industry - and live performances from a collection of the very best in music of Welsh origin throughout weekend, including special guest headliners, and selected International acts.

Selected artists will receive:


  • All selected artists will receive a full festival wristband. The festival wristband grants artists free access to all of the venues, live shows & seminars throughout the festival (capacity permitting).

  • All selected artists will receive a show rider & catering.

  • All selected artists will be featured on the festival website & included on the festival promo materials.

  • The festival offers performers the unique opportunity to perform in front of music industry experts, and help to establish their name and music in the UK.


History:

Now in its 3rd year, Focus Wales: Music Festival & Conference is widely regarded as one of the most exciting & important new music industry events in the UK. Focus Wales 2012 featured non-stop music throughout the weekend from 80+ acts over 8 stages, including; The Whip, Jodie Marie, Race Horses, Bensh, Jamie Smith's Mabon, The Gentle Good, Bastions, Yucatan, Cuba Cuba, Georgia Ruth Williams, Gallops, We Are Animal + lots more! Some of which were recorded by BBC Radio for broadcast at a later date. Performing also were International acts; Holly McGarry (USA), Moja (Japan), Bonfire Nights (Australia), and Minor Sounds (Croatia). The 2012 conference discussions featured representatives from: BBC Radio, Welsh Music Foundation, Good Lizard Media (The Prodigy, Underworld & The Subways), Glass Butter Beach Festival, Dawson Breed Music - Booking Agency, TKO Booking Agency, Al Farquhar (Manager: The Whip, Gallops & Golden Fable), Arts Council of Wales and PRS for Music.
