Summary
The Annual ROCK IS DEAD Music Festival is 2 days of stellar entertainment from the rawest and most promising up-and-coming acts of ROCK N ROLL. Staged at multiple venues in Kent, Ohio, setting of the infamous Kent State shootings of 1970 which birthed a revolutionary wave rock music that would help usher in social change and ultimately end a war. In it's second season, ROCK IS DEAD is proving quite proudly that ROCK LIVES!
Artists are selected on a critical basis and no acts are given priority over politics and posturing. If you rock the hardest, you'll get your slot no matter who your booking agent is. Selected artists are given a small number of 2 day weekend passes to sell on their websites and through social media and the proceeds from those sales are a portion of their compensation. Additional compensation is arranged once bands are selected but all acts are paid for their performances. RID also arranges hotel and travel deals and provide meals throughout the event. Located 1/2 way between Chicago and Philly/NY/NJ markets, this is a great tour stop for any nationally touring act looking to reach a demographic of midwest college rockers, aging hippies and hipster yuppies.
No cover bands accepted. No genres outside of the parent genre of Rock (ie no jazz, hip hop, metal).
