The 13th annual Denver Post Underground Music Showcase is July 18th – 21st. The UMS has always been at the forefront of Colorado’s incredible music community. Past editions of the UMS have featured performances by nationally known acts The Lumineers, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Churchill, Shabazz Palaces, Atlas Sound, Big Freedia, A Place to Bury Strangers, Shovels & Rope, Sage Francis, Gauntlet Hair, Generationals, Hellogoodbye, Flobots, DeVotchka, El Ten Eleven, 16 Horsepower, These United States, Nathaniel Rateliff, Paper Bird, Gregory Alan Isakov, Meese, Isaac Slade of The Fray, Langhorne Slim, Bowerbirds, and Dressy Bessy.
There are 20 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists this year.
In the last 3 years the UMS has selected almost 160 Sonicbids artists to grace their stages – including the outdoor festival stage, traditional venues like the HiDive, 3 Kings or The Skylark, the historic Mayan Theater, and funky art galleries and retail shops. Their performers have enjoyed the unique atmosphere and appreciative crowds synonymous with the UMS.
This is a Denver Post Community Signature Event,. All proceeds benefit the Denver Post Community Foundation. The foundation will distribute all funds to nonprofit organizations operating locally. The mission of The Denver Post Community Foundation is to improve and enrich the quality of life in our community through the support of programs that benefit Arts, Youth, Education and Human Services.
