Numerous bands, such as Smoking Popes, Hoobastank, Butch Walker, Liquid Soul, Joss Stone, Filter, The Alarm, Local H, Ratt, Scott Weiland, Soul Coughing and many more have graced its stage. It is looking to book local to touring solo artists and bands to perform a variety of genres (please no hip hop or metal) on all nights of the week. The venue also offers an acoustic lounge series in its upstairs, 7 nights per week.
Selected artists receive:
- Artists will be compensated with 100% of the door (no expense stipend).
- Artists can sell their merchandise and keep 100% of the profits.
- Promotion through the Elbo Room's media announcements in The Chicago Reader.
- A full sound and lighting system, as well as a full backline*
*Please note: Artists performing at the Elbo Room are required to use the backline provided at the venue. Details on what the backline includes will be provided during the submission process.
Artist information:
- Artists must be able to draw at least 10 people to the show and be 21 years and older to play (if they are not 21, the act must play in the opening slot of the night).
- Artists are asked not to book another Chicago show within 2 weeks before and after the date of the show at the Elbo Room.
Draw information:
- Sunday - Wendesday: Bands are expected to draw 25 or more people on weekdays. If a band does draw 25 or more people, then they will be offered a Thursday night show.
- Thursday: Bands are expected to draw 50 or more people on a Thursday. If a band does draw 50 or more people, then they will be offered a weekend show.
- Friday - Saturday: Bands are expected to draw 75-100 or more people on a weekend. If a band does NOT draw 50 or more people, then they will be given another weekday show in the future.
The Elbo Room is renown for its great ambiance, exceptional sound, and continuing effort to showcase top local and national acts from a multitude of artistic genres.
