Folk Alliance Region West (FAR-West) is a regional chapter of the North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance (Folk Alliance). FAR-West’s Regional Conference will be held November 2-4, 2007 near Portland, OR at the Hilton Vancouver Washington. The conference is three days and two nights of showcases, networking, workshops, panels and a trade show. The regional Folk Alliance conferences are considered to be smaller, less imposing versions of the international annual conference.

Folk Alliance Region West (FAR-West) is a regional chapter of the North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance (Folk Alliance). FAR-West’s Regional Conference will be held November 2-4, 2007 near Portland, OR at the Hilton Vancouver Washington. The conference is three days and two nights of showcases, networking, workshops, panels and a trade show. The regional Folk Alliance conferences are considered to be smaller, less imposing versions of the international annual conference.
Attendees include festival presenters, house concert presenters, nightclub and other venue operators, agents, artists, journalists, DJs and other supporters of the Folk and Roots music community. The conference will also include the third annual "Best of the West" Awards Banquet (included in registration fee).
There will be one main stage with 9 to 10 performances and 4 late night showcase stages with up to 48 performances.

Selection Committee includes Howard & Roz Larman (FolkScene Radio Program), singer-songwriter-producer Wendy Waldman, Eric Lowen & Dan Navarro (artists Lowen & Navarro), Renee Bodie (Concerts at the Bodie House), Russ Paris (Russ & Julie's House Concerts), Bruce (Q-Note Productions), songwriter Brad Parker, Rick Ahern (Cumulus Presents), and Debra & Greg Ching (Aspen Meadows House Concerts).
Please Note: Artists chosen as Main Showcase performers must be members of Folk Alliance at the time of the conference, be registered for the conference, and will be assessed a $50 production fee. Selected artists are expected to defray their own travel and lodging expenses. A discounted band rate is available for registration as well as an early bird discount.
