Western Fairs Association is an association for fairs and fair related businesses, covering the western United States and offering wonderful performance opportunities for artists. One of WFA's stated missions is to provide its members with information and resources that will help fairs and fair related businesses prosper. Every season, the fairs of the west spend over $40 million buying acts and attractions to showcase during fair time. These acts perform before a collective audience that exceeds 20 million guests. The 2008 WFA Convention and Trade Show is seeking artists for showcase opportunities, taking place January 7-9, 2008 at the Town & Country Hotel and Resort in San Diego, CA.
All applications will be judged by a committee of industry leaders, agents, and artists. Acts offered and accepting a showcase slot are responsible for their own transportation, lodging and food. Selected artists will pay an additional fee for the opportunity to showcase: $600 for musical acts, $400 for individual acts. There are also packages that include showcase, trade show space and advertising ranging from $1200-$1700. Western Fairs Association, LB Productions, and Speeda Sound will provide the stage, sound, lights, backline, production manager and sound engineers.
There will be one performance area with up to 20 showcase opportunities. Local, regional, and national acts will all be given equal consideration. All genres suitable for all ages are welcome to submit. Acts that have showcased at the Western Fairs Conventions include The Spinners, The Drifters, The Coasters, Doo Wah Riders, Johnny Cash and numerous local tribute bands.
Acts accepted to showcase receive 3 complimentary convention registrations. Additional registrations may be purchased for $75 each. It is not mandatory to register for the convention, but to access the trade show you must have a badge.
Please note- you must include at least one photo or video in your EPK to be considered. Supersonic artists are encouraged to be sure that they have completed the stage plot of their EPK.
