The University of Maine Campus Activities Board (CAB) programs entertainment 6 nights a week, with acts ranging from comedians to acoustic and non-acoustic musicians. The school is located in the town of Orono, ME, along the banks of the Stillwater River, and enrolls over 11,500 students. They are currently accepting submissions for the Spring 2008 semester and are interested in both regional and local acts. Java Jive:
This Tuesday night series features primarily acoustic performers, and is often held in The Bear’s Den (campus pub) or dining hall. The University of Maine CAB sets up a nice atmosphere for a generally well-attended event.
The Maine Attraction:
This Friday night series focuses on comedians, but also brings in variety acts such as mentalists, hypnotists, and magicians. The series is also held in The Bear’s Den (campus pub) or dining hall.
Compensation is provided and is specific to artist type and quality. The University of Maine does not cover travel expenses.
