In 2007 the magazine interviewed such artists as Beirut, Feist, Tegan and Sara, Modest Mouse, Bjork, Jens Lekman, The Shins, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, Rilo Kiley, Spoon, Interpol, Jarvis Cocker, Bright Eyes, Bloc Party, Dinosaur Jr., Yoko Ono, Band of Horses, Devendra Banhart, Animal Collective, LCD Soundsystem, and many others.
In the "Pleased to Meet You" section, Under the Radar profiles emerging artists, running articles on an average of ten new artists per issue. 2007 "Pleased to Meet You" interviews included such new artists as Klaxons, Deerhunter, St. Vincent, Yeasayer, Vampire Weekend, Bat For Lashes, Pop Levi, The Besnard Lakes, The Twilight Sad, Los Campesinos!, Loney Dear, Voxtrot, Maps, Lucky Soul, MGMT, Working for a Nuclear Free City, Sally Shapiro, A Place to Bury Strangers, Nicole Willis and The Soul Investigators, Glasvegas, Friendly Fires, and many others.
Also, for emerging artists, there is the chance to have your CD reviewed (there's an average of 140 - 190 reviews per issue) or to appear on Under the Radar's website, which receives 30,000 unique visitors per day.
Under the Radar mainly covers indie rock and indie pop and is most interested in artists from those genres. Although most of its features are on indie rock bands, Under the Radar also has special subsections in the album reviews section devoted to Americana/alt-country, electronica, hip-hop, jazz, reissues, and singles/EPs. The magazine is also interested in shoegazing, space-rock, and soul groups. The magazine generally does not cover these genres: hardcore, metal, punk, hard rock, pop-punk, mainstream pop, smooth jazz, mainstream country, classical, blues, and new age.
Under the Radar also reviews books, comic books, DVDs, films, television shows, and video games.
