For the past 6 years, Girls Rock & Girls Rule has continued its mission of creating awareness and exposure for independent female artists while helping women in the community. The Girls Rock & Girls Rule Tour debuted in 2006 and made multiple stops along the East Coast in NY, NJ, and PA.
The 2007 tour, with beneficiary Willie Mae Rock Camp receiving a portion of all proceeds, was bigger and better than ever with two Summer Preview shows in the NYC area, and then hitting the road in September, stopping in DC, MC, DE, Upstate NY, MA and RI. They topped it with the fantastic 6th Anniversary show in NYC in December which featured 7 tour artists and a special appearance by the Willie Mae Rock Camp Band.
The 2007 tour featured 35 phenomenal female performers groovin' on everything from indie, to pop-rock, to punk, to metal, to hardcore. At each GRGR event, Revolutionary Records partners with artists and organizations to offer a fantastic evening of entertainment featuring a combination of local and touring bands. This insures a strong local audience and gives bands an opportunity to gain exposure with new fans while offering local live music lovers some fresh new sounds they might not otherwise have had a chance to hear, all the while raising money for a great cause! The response from bands, fans and the media has been positive and enthusiastic! GRGR is set to become the premiere showcase for discovering the best female rockers on the scene today!
