Building on its strengths on an annual basis, Hard Working Class Heroes returns to the streets of Dublin over the weekend of Friday 12th/Saturday 13th/ Sunday 14th September for its 6th consecutive year. The Hard Working Class Heroes festival has become the Irish independent music industry's most telling barometer. It is a perfect opportunity to spot emerging acts as well as a chance to see more established artists perform in full festival spirit without having to buy a tent. HWCH is Ireland's only festival dedicated to Irish bands. Once again music industry figures from around the world will be invited to attend and get involved in the festival and to experience firsthand the breadth of talent in Ireland.
As always, and as you would expect from the only festival of its kind in Ireland, Hard Working Class Heroes promises a spectacular collection of close on 100 acts over the three days.
Returning to its spiritual home in the Temple Bar area of Dublin the festival is once again calling on the best of Ireland’s bands to register digitally to secure a slot to play at the event. This year’s event will also include the following:
- Ireland’s photographers are being called on to submit their finest shots for a chance to feature in a full Photographers Exhibition which is being curated by Ireland’s newest quality monthly magazine State.
- A Scottish Invasion curated by one of Domino’s finest acts, Sons & Daughters, will bring the best of emerging talent from our Celtic neighbors (sponsored by the Scottish Arts Council with support from Culture Ireland).
- MUZU.TV will help create HWCH TV, which will visually promote the chosen artists to industry and Festival goers in advance, and also broadcast the festival highlights. MUZU.TV will also make a live studio video, free of charge, for every band playing the festival, to help promote themselves online.
- Entertainment.ie have joined forces with the festival this year to sponsor the download chart atwww.hwch.net which will monitor the most popular bands of the festival offering 24-hour access for the general public to check out and rate all of the artists featured.
And as if that’s not enough there will be panels, mentor sessions and more with a host of international delegates on hand to share their wisdom and experience (thanks to the generous support of IMRO, The Arts Council, and Culture Ireland).
All genres are accepted. Bands must be from Ireland to be eligible. All band members must be over 18 years of age to comply with venue regulations.
Please note: All submitting artists must have 3 tracks of original music in their EPK. If you are signing up as a Sonicbids member, you will complete your EPK after you've finished the HWCH application process and can upload your original material then.
